WHAT IS A HAIKU?

The Haiku is an ancient japanese form of poetry, the english version of which has a certain number of syllables in each of three lines. like this:

Five syllables here
Seven more syllables here
Five more at the end.

The poems traditionally are centered around idea's of time, place and nature, the americanized versions can be about anything at all.

HOW HAIKU NIGHT WORKS:

The event will be round based in which patrons will have 3 minutes to come up with there own on-the-fly Haikus and then read them.
Each round will have a theme to incorporate into your haiku, and at the end of the round we share our haiku's and the audience will decide on a favorite. After all the rounds are done, all of the favorite haiku writers will face off in a Death Haiku round for a Local store/restaurant Gift Certificate/Prize.

Prefunk will also have drink Special of Japanese Lager and for the night.

Come for Haikus
stay for the Japanese booze
blah blah blah get drunk
