The Spill's Mission: We want to open up our eyes to the people around us, and their stories. To foster a community that leaves no one outside, afraid, or alone. To share the moments that makes us human. To spill our guts.

The Spill is a LIVE story telling event! We pick a poem and share it with everyone ahead of time, and audience members are invited to tell a story from their life that relates in any way to that poem (considering the objects, images and ideas that it brings to mind).

If the poem was "This Is Just To Say"
by William Carlos Williams,
which goes:

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

THEN you could come to the event with a story about that time you were "sorry-not-sorry" for eating all your roommates food. Or a story about plums. Or a story about when you just couldn't control yourself anymore--even when it hurt the ones you love.

Make sure you rehearse your story ahead of time and that it fits within the time limit (5 minutes).

It is also a good idea to start your story building process by thinking of the perfect last line (With the right finishing touch, any story can be a masterpiece).

And lastly, but MOST importantly....

Spill your guts.
